UPCOMING EVENTS:
On September 1, 2, and 3, Hospice San Miguel will be attending a conference on Social Responsibility in Puebla. The Puebla conference is organized by CEMEFI, The Mexican Center for Philanthropy. Hospice San Miguel is recognized by Hacienda as a "tax free" organization and can issue Mexican tax receipts to its donors. More importantly, Hospice can now apply for grants from some 1000 foundations and corporations in Mexico. We hope that good contacts will be made and grant opportunities will result from our attendance at this important conference.
Hospice will be making several public presentations in the next months to provide the expatriate community with information about the health systems in Mexico and how to live a healthy life in San Miguel. Dates to be announced.
In the months of August and September, many small conferences are planned to educate the Mexican community in hospice care and the services available from Hospice San Miguel.
On October 10,2010, to celebrate World Hospice Day, a "kermess" will be held in the Plaza Civica. This event will also integrate health prevention and information on how to live your life to the highest quality possible regardless of what illness you may have or in what stage you may be. Hospice expects to be able to educate thousands of Mexican families about Hospice services.

July 17, 2010 - Gran Venta de Garage. Through the dedicated work of many of our Mexican volunteers, Hospice San Miguel had a large garage sale that brought almost $18.000 pesos to the support fund of Hospice. Congratulations to Milou and Letty for their work in organizing this event and for our many volunteers that dedicated over 60 hours in preparing the event!
February 6-13, 2010 - 6:00 pm: 3rd Annual Have a Heart for Hospice Silent Auction - Marilo Carral of Espacio Carral at the Fabrica La Aurora hosted the week-long Exhibit and Silent Auction of hearts decorated and created by 60 of San Miguel's most wonderful artists and designers!
December 17, 2009 - 6:30 pm: 2009 Holiday Season Benefit Concert featuring the Sooke Philharmonic Chamber Players and Tuna Oratoriana at Artesana Rosewood Residences (Ancha de San Antonio #32) - Artesana Rosewood presents a wonderful Holiday Concert to benefit Hospice San Miguel from 6:30 pm - 9 pm.
October 16, 2009 - 6 pm: Works of Art from Pauline Pasilis to Benefit Hospice at Galeria San Miguel (Plaza Principal #14) - Galeria San Miguel Owner, Sylvia Samuelson, has graciously given her gallery to feature the works of Pauline Pasilis. All sales proceeds will benefit Hospice San Miguel. Please come! The gallery is open from 9am - 2pm and again from 4 pm - 7pm.
October 3, 2009: Memorial Concert to Benefit Hospice - St. Paul's Church will host at 7 pm a Concert in the Memory of Ron Beakley. This is a free concert, but donations will be accepted to benefit Hospice. Please come!
August 13-14, 2009: Hospice San Miguel presents ELNEC - End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium Conference - Real de Minas Hotel. The first Palliative Care Conference hosted in San Miguel. This is by invitation only.
